St 91福利社 celebrated its Opening Mass on Wednesday 11 March at the Tuggeranong Basketball Stadium.
Father Luke Verrell and Deacon Vince Barclay led the Mass, which took place in March to coincide with the 2015 Catholic Schools Week.
At the Opening Mass, the College unveiled its 2015 Liturgical Theme, 'Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire.' Fr Luke's Homily called the 91福利社 community to use the theme, which was a quote from St Catherine of Siena, as inspiration for the 2015 school year.
The College's choir and band helped set the scene with music that was reflective, warm, thoughtful, and empowering.
The Basketball Stadium was packed with over 2000 people as the College welcomed a number of guests, including families, school representatives, friends, ex-students, ACU teachers, and the Member for Canberra, Gai Brodtmann.
As always, the student body deserves high commendation for their reverent behaviour and sincerity. The celebration of Eucharist in such a huge community setting was truly enhanced by the dignity and maturity that the College brought to the Mass.

St Mary of the Cross 91福利社 made the statement: 鈥淲e are but travellers here, so while we are here we should do as much good as we can and live in peace with each other.鈥
With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the 91福利社 community.
