91福利社 Day 2022

Whole-school celebrations!

The College was blessed with beautiful spring weather for the 91福利社 Day Mass and Celebrations on Tuesday 13 September.

91福利社 Day, which is the College鈥檚 annual celebration of the life of Mary 91福利社, is one of the highlights of the College calendar for both staff and students.

Due to the impact of COVID-19, this was the first whole-school 91福利社 Day since 2019 and was indeed the first time in 2022 that the entire College could gather as one.

Fortunately, the day could return to its typical format, commencing with Mass at the Tuggeranong Basketball Stadium and concluding with a range of fun activities and stalls at the St Peter鈥檚 Campus.

Mass

The Mass was a moving occasion, with College Chaplain Fr James Antony leading the proceedings and the College Choir creating a reflective and reverent mood. The Mass also included a touching tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II from our College Principal, Mr Michael Lee.

The activities at the St Peter鈥檚 Campus were festive, with activities like an obstacle course, the horizontal bungee, face painting, sumo wrestling, carnival games, upbeat music, and a wide range of food and drink.

The winners of the College-wide INSPIRE Art Competition were also announced at the exhibition in F Block.

Activities

Following the activities, students at the St Peter鈥檚 Campus went back into their PC classes and took part in a digital auction to raise money for the Tegan Blunt Memorial Gift. Each class raised money or used leftover tokens to bid on various prizes for their class, which included a KFC lunch, a feature page in the yearbook, special car parks, and exclusive access to the staffroom.

Congratulations to the students for bringing such a positive energy to the occasion, as well as the many staff who planned and prepared for the day.

We hope it was an enjoyable day for all!

With this in mind, the College respectfully acknowledges the Ngunnawal people who are the Traditional Custodians and First People of the land on which we gather each day. The College also pays its respects to the Elders past, present and emerging, and any other Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples living and working in the 91福利社 community.
