Congratulations to the Class of 2024, who have won the 2024 Young Canberra Citizen of the Year Award in the Group Achievement Category.
The students of Year 12 were recognised for their many community achievements this year, and particularly for their efforts in the Cancer Council鈥檚 Relay for Life in Term 1. The Graduating Class raised over $75,000 for the event, which was the highest fundraising total of any school across Australia and the second-highest group overall.
The Young Canberra Citizen of the Year Awards celebrate Canberrans aged 12 to 25 who have made a significant contribution to the ACT community across seven categories. The awards celebrate young people for achievements in fields such as sport, education, science, culture, the arts and the environment.
College Captains Avari Petersen and Harry Angus attended the ceremony, which was held at the Belconnen Arts Centre on Friday 29 November, to accept the award on behalf of their cohort.
